Shot blasting is a process in which an abrasive material is forced through a jet nozzle using compressed air pressure. This creates a
fast and effective way of cleaning or preparing ferrous metals for powder coating or wet spraying.
It can remove paint, rust and scale on mild steel and iron components.
Light blasting can also be undertaken on aluminium and stainless steel parts to remove old paint or give a key for wet-spraying or
powder coating. (For more delicate items Bead blasting can be used).

Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of materials and products that are
used by both industries and consumers.
The powder used for the process is a mixture of finely ground particles of pigment, fillers, binders and resins, which is sprayed onto a
surface to be coated. The charged powder particles adhere to the electrically grounded surfaces until heated and fused into a smooth
coating in a curing oven. The result is a uniform, durable, high-quality, and attractive finish.

POWDER COATING FACILITIES & SERVICES
Box oven capacity: 2.1 x 2.1 x 4.6 metres. (7 x 7 x 15)
Ideal for large awkward items, sheet metal, and heavy work as well as higher volume jobs such as brackets, machined components and
castings. Oven is Gas fired up to 220oC with temperature control and time cycle for long bakes.
We carry out polyester powder coating in a wide range of colours, thickness and textures to customer specification. Polyester coatings
are suited to indoor and outdoor use and possess high resistance to weathering as well as elevated temperatures. All polyester
powder coatings are applied over a pre-treated surface which ensures a tough and flexible finish resistant to cracking and flaking.
Epoxy Polyester Coatings
Epoxy polyester powder coatings provide a high performance finish with good chemical resistance and colour stability. Epoxy polyester
is designed for indoor use in factory and process environments or applications subject to enhanced corrosion resistance.
Corrosion Resistant Coatings
We offer a specialist zinc rich powder coating as a primer for high level corrosive environments and applications where an extended life
expectancy of the surface coating is required. The specialist powder coating system offers up increased performance protection in
most types of light industrial applications, urban & industrial environments.
We offer a primer only service for jobs that do not require a full finish or where items will be assembled and finished elsewhere. We
offer zinc phosphate and epoxy primers in single and two pack finishes. All primer coatings are available with an optional shot blast
Collection / Delivery
Flowplant Group Ltd can offer a collection and delivery service for local customers and can by special arrangement serve customers
further afield. This service is carried out with our own flatbed vehicle and weights up to 1200kg can be accommodated. If you require a
collection and delivery service please feel free to call.
We can also pack and ship items via standard carriers including a pallet service.
